Route checked September 23, 2026. Seoul’s official Naksanseonggwak-gil guide lists a 2.1 km walk of about one hour, before photo stops, rest, or time in Ihwa Mural Village.
For the Naksan wall view associated with KPop Demon Hunters, start near Hansung University Station and follow the city wall toward Naksan Park and Ihwa Mural Village. The official route is 2.1 km and about one hour, but allow 90 minutes for the climb and photos.
Naksan is a practical screen-location walk because the Seoul setting is real and the route is short. It is still a hill, and the stone wall matters more than recreating a frame exactly. Wear shoes that handle stairs and uneven paving.
The route
Seoul’s official Naksanseonggwak-gil guide runs from Hyehwamun Gate to Heunginjimun Gate. For the most useful visitor section, begin at Hansung University Station Exit 4, reach the wall by the wooden stairs, and continue past Jangsu Village to Naksan Park.
- Hansung University Station Exit 4: save the Korean destination name 낙산공원 before leaving the station.
- Wooden stairs and wall path: follow the wall uphill toward Naksan Park. This is the part to take slowly in heat or rain.
- Naksan Park summit: the official guide gives the summit elevation as 124 meters. The open sections provide the broad city view.
- Ihwa Mural Village: descend through the neighborhood if you want cafés and street art.
- Heunginjimun and the Seoul City Wall Museum: continue downhill for a longer historical walk, or finish earlier around Ihwa.
The published one-hour estimate assumes steady walking. Ninety minutes is more realistic if you stop at the viewpoint; two hours leaves room for Ihwa and the museum area.
Where the film connection appears
The city guide now identifies a Naksan photo point connected with KPop Demon Hunters and shows a signpost near the wall. Treat that marker as orientation rather than a promise of a perfect screen match. Animation compresses distance, changes angles, and controls the sky in a way a live viewpoint cannot.
Once you find the wall, the route is easier to understand than it is from isolated social posts: fortress stone on one side, roofs and apartment blocks on the other, with the skyline opening as the path rises.
Daylight or night?
Go in daylight if this is your first visit, you want to read the route, or rain has made the paving uncertain. Details in the wall and neighborhood are easier to see.
Go near sunset for changing light and the illuminated wall. Start early enough to cover the steepest section before dark, and check the weather rather than relying on a fixed sunset itinerary.
Avoid treating late night as automatically quieter. Residential lanes run close to the route, and fewer people can make navigation less comfortable for a solo visitor.
Two kinds of courtesy
The wall is a cultural property, so stay on the marked path and do not climb or sit on the masonry for a photograph. Ihwa is also a living neighborhood. Keep voices down, avoid aiming a camera through windows or doors, and do not block narrow lanes while arranging a group shot.
You do not need a long list of special rules. If a photograph requires touching the wall, entering private space, or stopping everyone behind you, choose another angle.
Weather and access
Shade is limited on exposed sections. Carry water in summer, use sun protection, and postpone the walk when heavy rain, ice, or strong wind makes the paving unsafe. The route includes stairs and slopes; visitors who need a step-free outing should not assume the full official course is accessible.
Public toilets and cafés are easier to find around the park and Ihwa than on the narrow wall sections. Use the station before starting if you prefer not to interrupt the climb.
Pairing Naksan with another stop
Hyehwa and Daehangno work well before the walk, while Dongdaemun fits the downhill finish. Do not combine Naksan and Namsan just because both have night views unless you enjoy repeated climbing. For a tower-centered skyline and cable-car option, use the Namsan Seoul Tower guide on a different evening.
Search 낙산공원 in NAVER Map and save the entrance you intend to use. Our NAVER Map English guide explains how to verify the Korean place name and route.
Before you set out
Check the Seoul city guide for route notices, the forecast for rain or ice, and the Seoul City Wall Museum’s current opening hours if you plan to finish there. The wall itself is the reason to walk; the film connection gives you a place to begin.
